select all that apply

A test question that asks you to choose every correct answer from a list, where more than one may be right.

suh-LEKT AWL that uh-PLY noun

What it means

Often shortened to SATA. On the NCLEX, the question tells you to "select all that apply", and any number of the options, from one to all of them, may be correct. On the Next Generation NCLEX, many of these items give partial credit, but a wrong choice can take points away.

For the nurse

Treat each option as its own true-or-false question about this client, rather than looking for a pattern or a set number of answers.
