What it means
Used for any finding or condition that comes and goes. A transient ischemic attack (TIA) is a short episode of stroke-like symptoms that clears completely. Transient side effects, such as mild nausea when starting a drug, often fade as the body adjusts.
For the nurse
Something that went away still matters: record when it started, how long it lasted and what was happening, and report transient neurological symptoms, which can come before a stroke.
