What it’s for
Gives antegrade cardioplegia: after the aortic cross-clamp is on, cold or warm cardioplegic solution is infused into the aortic root above the valve so it flows into the coronary arteryKOR-uh-nair-ee AR-ter-eeOne of the blood vessels on the surface of the heart that bring oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle.Full entry and stops the heart. The vent line can also suck blood and air from the aortic root. It is placed last in the standard order of cannulation. Our setups pair it with a pressure-monitored flush line.
