    Keeps a donor heart cold (static hypothermiahy-poh-THER-mee-uhA body temperature that has fallen below the normal range.hypo- belowtherm/o heat-ia conditionFull entry storage) on the trip from the donor hospital to the transplant hospital. The heart hangs by its aorta from a heart connector inside the organ canister, which is filled with about 3 L of 4 C preservation solution. Intended storage time is up to 4 hours.
