What it means
A communication framework for meeting clients and families. The nurse acknowledges the person by name, introduces themselves and their role, says how long a procedure or wait will take, explains what will happen and why, and thanks the person. It helps build trust and lowers anxiety.
For the nurse
Use it each time you enter a room for a procedure, together with checking two client identifiers.
