What it does.

  • What it’s for

    Hold a donor organ for cold transport after procurement. The heart is removed and placed in a sterile bag with cold preservation solution; bagged graftGRAFTTissue or a man-made material moved into place in surgery to replace or repair a damaged part.Full entry then go into an ice-filled chest for the trip to the recipient hospital. Donor lungs are triple bagged and carried in ice, and a liver may be double-bagged in sterile Lahey bags.
